Wildfire Restoration Tour

Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Carol Moorehead for a wildfire restoration tour at Rimrock Ranch. In August 2025, the 23,000 acre Flat Fire burned through Rimrock Ranch and several other Land Trust Preserves on Whychus Creek. Learn all about the fire impacts at Rimrock Ranch, see how the Preserve is recovering, and discover how post-fire restoration efforts are helping it along. We’ll also explore how the Preserve might evolve in the coming years as wildfire recovery is a multi-year process. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event.

Hike Rating: This is a moderate 1-2 mile hike on old roads.

Route: This hike will start in the parking area at Rimrock Ranch and follow dirt access roads. Terrain will be uneven at times.
