Solar Viewing

Join the staff of the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory in a guided solar viewing!

What we know about most stars in the universe comes from studying the one star we can see in detail, the Sun. Trained observatory staff will guide attendees through the process of safely looking at our closest star through specialized equipment. We will use two different types of filters that allow the viewer to see sunspots, solar prominences, filaments, surface texture, and possibly a solar flare!

Meet outside on the South Side Patio at Sisters Library.
