Mama + Baby Birds

Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Mary Yanalcanlin for a bird walk just for kids! Wander around Hindman Springs looking for birds and nests while learning about bird behavior and habitat. Explore the world of mama and baby birds, including the roles mamas (and daddies!) play in caring for and feeding baby birds. Perfect for kids ages 4-10 with a grown-up in tow. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event.

Hike Rating: This is an easy for kids, 1 mile walk on a gravel trail.

Route: This hike will start at the Camp Polk Meadow Preserve kiosk and follow a gravel trail. Terrain will be uneven at times.

Elevation gain/loss: There is very little elevation gain/loss on this hike.
