Artist Reception: Susan Porteous

Leading up to Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, Makin’ it Local is extending the celebration beyond quilts by showcasing artists whose work reflects the same appreciation for color, pattern, craftsmanship, and storytelling. The receptions are designed for both visitors and local residents, offering everyone the opportunity to experience another side of Oregon’s vibrant arts community while meeting the artists behind the work.
From Tuesday, July 7, through Friday, July 10, 2026, locals and visitors alike are invited to meet the artists, enjoy complimentary wine, refreshments, and light hors d’oeuvres, and experience new collections inspired by the beauty, color, and spirit of Oregon. Each reception will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Letterpress artist Susan Porteous of Green Bird Press brings her distinctive collection of quilt-inspired letterpress prints, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Her beautifully printed works have become favorites among quilters, collectors, and lovers of handmade art.
