SUMMARY:Wildflowers and Birds of the Pacific Northwest for Kids!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special morning with kids nature book authors Ashley Erdely (Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest for Kids) and Tom Myers (Birds of the Pacific Northwest for Kids) \nCome learn\, explore and craft! FREE and open to the public \nTom Myers is an elementary school teacher and birder who lives in Oregon. He began birding in 2017 after he bought a kayak and started noticing birds while he paddled. Since then\, he finds and photographs birds whenever possible. When he’s not teaching or birding\, Tom stays busy reading\, beekeeping and baking. \nAshley Erdely is a longtime educator\, devoted parent\, and nature enthusiast. She grew up in Northern Michigan on a 130-acre llama ranch and her early experiences in nature significantly influenced her career decision to be an educator\, encompassing her environmental passion and commitment to making nature a part of children’s daily lives.

SUMMARY:House Concert with Cosy Sheridan
DESCRIPTION:A house concert is an intimate listening event where music is the focus. A community gathering in support of performing artists and their work. Seating is limited. We are asking for a $20-$25 suggested donation (cash\, Venmo or credit card) per person attending\, which we will collect at the door. All donations go to the artists! Please RSVP below to reserve your seats! \nAbout Cosy Sheridan:\nCosy Sheridan has been called one of the era’s finest and most thoughtful songwriters\, and also ‘a buddhist monk trapped in the body of a singer-songwriter’. Her music regularly tops the folk radio charts. Her CD\, Pretty Bird\, was listed among Sing Out Magazine’s Great CDs of 2014. Her concerts are wide-ranging explorations: ragtime guitar and social satire\, modern renditions of mythology ( meet Hades the Biker ) and tales of modern adulthood. Her alter ego\, Chlamydia\, sometimes appears with songs such as “Botox Tango” or “Multiply Pierced.” The Cornell Folksong Society wrote: “Sheridan is frank\, feisty\, sublimely and devilishly funny. She fuses myth with modern culture; Persephone with Botox.”

SUMMARY:Photography Meetup & Film Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Little Radical Film Shop’s September Film Walk is landing right in the middle of the Sisters Folk Festival — which means even more magic to capture downtown. Think live music drifting through the streets\, festival energy in the air\, and all the small-town details that make Sisters shine. \nWe’ll meet up as a community of photographers (film\, digital\, or whatever camera you’ve got) and wander downtown together\, looking for light\, color\, and those in-between moments worth remembering. All ages and experience levels welcome — it’s not about perfect shots\, it’s about slowing down\, connecting\, and creating
