DESCRIPTION:Enjoy some bonding time with women of all ages and levels in the appropriately-named town of Sisters\, Oregon. Choose between the all-women’s trail half marathon featuring single-track in the Deschutes National Forest (on the Peterson Ridge Trail system) with some pretty stellar views or take part in the 5K and 10K road race that winds through scenic downtown Sisters. All races cross the same finish line\, welcoming all to enjoy the beautiful FivePine campus under the towering Ponderosa pines. \nThe Happy Girls Sisters half marathoners will enjoy spectacular single track beginning and ending at FivePine Lodge (at an elevation of 3182 feet). The course weaves through the Deschutes National Forest offering stunning views and rolling terrain amongst the Ponderosa pines. There will be some elevation change and some climbing in the beginning\, so come ready for a challenge. Sections of the trail are narrow and rocky. \n10K and 5K runners can expect a mix of pavement and trail on this fast and fun course that winds through downtown Sisters. The course is relatively flat\, so expect fast times!

DESCRIPTION:Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Jenn Masse\, Certified Forest & Nature Therapy Guide\, for a guided forest bathing experience at the Metolius Preserve. \nWe will begin with a short grounding exercise to help you arrive and tune into your senses\, followed by guided invitations that encourage slowing down and noticing the world around you. Along the way\, there will be opportunities to share what you are observing\, and we will close with a final group reflection and tea. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event. \nInspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku\, which translates to “taking in the atmosphere of the forest through the senses\,” forest bathing is a guided experience of slowing down and being present in a natural setting. Research over several decades has linked this practice to a wide range of benefits\, including reduced stress\, improved sleep\, lower blood pressure and inflammation\, and strengthened immune function. At its heart\, forest bathing is about remembering our connection to nature\, to one another\, and to ourselves. This experience is suitable for most abilities and includes slow walking and periods of stillness. \nHike Rating: This is an easy 2-3 mile walk on Preserve trails. \nRoute: This hike will start at the South Trailhead of the Metolius Preserve and follow Preserve trails. Terrain will be uneven at times. \nElevation gain/loss: There is very little elevation gain/loss on this hike.

If you arrive late\, you can still buy in until 6:30. \nIt’s a $20 buy-in every Wednesday\, but to keep things interesting\, they go through the following rotation of different tournament rules: \n1st Wednesday of the month: Just one rebuy allowed before the 6:30 break. \n2nd Wednesday of the month: Unlimited rebuys until 6:30\, so the tournament might go a little later\, but usually there’s more prize money. \n3rd Wednesday of the month: Just one rebuy allowed before the 6:30 break. \nLast Wednesday of the month: It’s an additional $5 for “Bounty” play. You keep the $5 bounty from each player you knock out of the tournament.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Jenn Masse\, Certified Forest & Nature Therapy Guide\, for a guided forest bathing experience at the Metolius Preserve. \nWe will begin with a short grounding exercise to help you arrive and tune into your senses\, followed by guided invitations that encourage slowing down and noticing the world around you. Along the way\, there will be opportunities to share what you are observing\, and we will close with a final group reflection and tea. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event. \nInspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku\, which translates to “taking in the atmosphere of the forest through the senses\,” forest bathing is a guided experience of slowing down and being present in a natural setting. Research over several decades has linked this practice to a wide range of benefits\, including reduced stress\, improved sleep\, lower blood pressure and inflammation\, and strengthened immune function. At its heart\, forest bathing is about remembering our connection to nature\, to one another\, and to ourselves. This experience is suitable for most abilities and includes slow walking and periods of stillness. \nHike Rating: This is an easy 2-3 mile walk on Preserve trails. \nRoute: This hike will start at the South Trailhead of the Metolius Preserve and follow Preserve trails. Terrain will be uneven at times. \nElevation gain/loss: There is very little elevation gain/loss on this hike.

Players should show up Wednesdays between 5:15 and 5:25 to sign up with Pat upstairs before the dealing starts at 5:30. If you arrive late\, you can still buy in until 6:30. \nIt’s a $20 buy-in every Wednesday\, but to keep things interesting\, they go through the following rotation of different tournament rules: \n1st Wednesday of the month: Just one rebuy allowed before the 6:30 break. \n2nd Wednesday of the month: Unlimited rebuys until 6:30\, so the tournament might go a little later\, but usually there’s more prize money. \n3rd Wednesday of the month: Just one rebuy allowed before the 6:30 break. \nLast Wednesday of the month: It’s an additional $5 for “Bounty” play. You keep the $5 bounty from each player you knock out of the tournament.

In 2020\, their song “The Railroad” was the opening montage theme for episode one of Tiger King\, which had 53 million streams in its first week. Maybe that was where you heard them. Wait a minute- they have 250 million streams across platforms; maybe you heard them in your friend’s car on a cross-country road trip through the real town of Goodnight\, Texas- the exact midpoint between songwriters Avi Vinocur and Patrick Dyer Wolf’s homes on each coast.
