DESCRIPTION:This weekly No-Limit Texas Hold ’em tournament has been going on upstairs at the Saloon since 2010. Players should show up Wednesdays between 5:15 and 5:25 to sign up with Pat upstairs before the dealing starts at 5:30. If you arrive late\, you can still buy in until 6:30. \nIt’s a $20 buy-in every Wednesday\, but to keep things interesting\, they go through the following rotation of different tournament rules: \n1st Wednesday of the month: Just one rebuy allowed before the 6:30 break. \n2nd Wednesday of the month: Unlimited rebuys until 6:30\, so the tournament might go a little later\, but usually there’s more prize money. \n3rd Wednesday of the month: Just one rebuy allowed before the 6:30 break. \nLast Wednesday of the month: It’s an additional $5 for “Bounty” play. You keep the $5 bounty from each player you knock out of the tournament.

Hike down into the canyon formed by Whychus Creek to explore mixed pine and juniper forest and meadow. See if you can spot the golden eagle nest among the amazing columnar basalt cliffs while you learn about the geologic history of the Preserve and our region. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event. \nHike Rating: This is a moderate ~2 mile hike. \nRoute: This hike will start at the canyon rim and follow a gravel road into the canyon and a cinder trail as you walk along the creek. Each group receives a sky map\, specialized to the month of viewing and binoculars to borrow. \nThe Party on the Full Moon focuses on our nearest celestial neighbor\, our Moon. You’ll hear an ancient story with the Moon as a main character\, and learn why our Moon is so critical to life on our planet. The Summer Solstice and Equinox Parties put a focus on the solstice/equinox with a special ancient story and facts about these pivotal nights of the year. DESCRIPTION:This weekly No-Limit Texas Hold ’em tournament has been going on upstairs at the Saloon since 2010. Players should show up Wednesdays between 5:15 and 5:25 to sign up with Pat upstairs before the dealing starts at 5:30. If you arrive late\, you can still buy in until 6:30. \nIt’s a $20 buy-in every Wednesday\, but to keep things interesting\, they go through the following rotation of different tournament rules: \n1st Wednesday of the month: Just one rebuy allowed before the 6:30 break. \n2nd Wednesday of the month: Unlimited rebuys until 6:30\, so the tournament might go a little later\, but usually there’s more prize money. \n3rd Wednesday of the month: Just one rebuy allowed before the 6:30 break. \nLast Wednesday of the month: It’s an additional $5 for “Bounty” play. You keep the $5 bounty from each player you knock out of the tournament.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Derek Loeb for a geology hike at Whychus Canyon Preserve. Marvel at the geologic history of this rimrock canyon and take in the views from two scenic overlooks as you make your way into the canyon to the banks of Whychus Creek. Learn about the forces of nature that formed the cliffs surrounding the creek and see how the Preserve is recovering from the 2025 Flat Fire while exploring juniper groves and native grasslands. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event. \nHike Rating: This is a challenging 5-6 mile hike on Whychus Canyon Preserve hiking trails. \nRoute: This hike will start at the Whychus Canyon Preserve kiosk and follow trails down into the Whychus Creek canyon. Terrain will be uneven and steep at times. \nElevation gain/loss: This hike is challenging with 300′ of elevation gain/loss.
